About Us
Edward D.Scheiner, D.O., F.O.C.O.O.
Dr. Scheiner is a 1976 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and is Board Certified in Otorhinolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Scheiner is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngology and is Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery at Kennedy Memorial Hospitals-University Medical Center.
He is the Program Director for the residency program at UMDNJ-SOM. Other professional organizations and memberships include The American Osteopathic Association, NJ Association of Osteopathic Physicians, Camden County Society of Osteopathic Physicians, the Osteopathic College of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Edward Scheiner and ENT Surgical Associates, New Jersey Speech and Hearing, are very pleased to announce our exciting new association with REM Audiology Associates, PC. We are especially pleased and honored to welcome back the expertise of Elizabeth Patterson, M.S., CCC-A (NJ Aud Lic #128, NJ HA Lic #547) and Maegen Mapes, AuD, CCC-A (NJ Aud #501. NJ HA Lic #809). Ms. Patterson and Dr. Mapes are well known in the South Jersey area as well as the Northeast Philadelphia area. In conjunction with the medical care offered here at ENT Surgical Associates, they will provide excellent hearing health care from diagnostic testing to expert hearing aid placement. NJSH was established many years ago and has continued to provide our local communities extensive, expert hearing health care delivered in a sensible, economical, caring and compassionate atmosphere. Elizabeth Protti-Patterson, M.S., CCC-A,
Elizabeth Protti-Patterson, M.S., CCC-A, has a master of science degree from the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. With over 35 years of experience in the area of audiology, she has developed an expertise in the areas of hearing aids and diagnostic testing for all age clients. In addition, she has developed a reputation in her skills as a pediatric and educational audiologist — maintaining a high level of expertise in central auditory processing testing and assistive auditory devices appropriate for the classroom setting. Infant hearing testing programs and subsequent follow up testing, including hearing aid fittings, are an integral part of her work experience. Ms. Patterson presently holds her Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. She has published widely in the areas of auditory processing disorders and continues to pursue her expertise in this area.
Maegan Mapes, Au.D.
Maegan Mapes, Au.D., received her bachelor’s at the University of Pittsburgh, her master’s at Ohio State University, and her doctorate of audiology at Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Mapes has practiced in settings such as hospitals, private practices, nursing homes, schools, neurology practices, and hearing aid manufacturers, specializing in pediatric and adult hearing impairment and auditory processing disorders. She also practiced at Temple University Children’s Medical Center as the coordinator of their newborn hearing screening program. Dr. Mapes has worked along side neurologists and ENT physicians to assess patients with imbalance problems and vertigo.
